Nestled in the interior of Sabah, the Danum Valley Conservation Area is one of the last remaining preserves of primary lowland rainforest in Asia. The Danum Valley provides visitors with an unparallel ecological experience into the wilds and wonders of ancient tropical forests. Within its 438 square kilometers the rich diversity of animal and plant life display the complex interaction of a natural, dynamic ecosystem found only in rainforests.
The Danum Valley is home to a full range of Sabah’s lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards and Orang Utans. There are estimated 275 species of birds that have been recorded in the area.
Day 1
9.00 am
Meet at our Borneo Nature Tours Sdn Bhd office for registration and short briefing.
9.30 am
Depart for 2 ½ hours overland journey on a road to Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
12.30 pm
Lunch at the Lodge.
2.00 pm
Introduction to the forest through Nature Trail & Canopy Walkway
5.00 pm
Dinner at the Lodge
8.30 pm
Slide presentation at the Conference Room
9.00 pm
Night Drive in an open-air jeep in search of nocturnal animals.
Day 2
7.00 am
Breakfast at the Lodge
9.00 am
Guided treks – Kadazandusun burial site – Coffin Cliff then proceed with trekking to the View Point for a bird’s eye view of the area.
12.30 pm
Descend to the Jacuzzi Pool for a refreshing dip.(Please bring your swimming gear)
2.00 pm
Lunch at the Lodge.
7.00 pm
Night walk in search of nocturnal animals
8.30 pm
Optional : Water tubing for an hour in the Danum River of trekking along at the Lodge
Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Danum Valley.
Day 3
7.00 am
Breakfast at Lodge
9.00 am
Check out. Heading back to Kota Kinabalu
